Dance of Spring, Concert 2013
With spring just around the corner, join us to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2013, the Year of the Snake. The Chinese Lantern Festival marks the end of 15-day-long Lunar New Year celebrations, which is falling on Feb. 24th! The East Dream Chinese Dance Group, a Corvallis-based nonprofit organization, is proud to present our annual concert, "Dance of Spring," to share our joy with the local community in welcoming the new season. The evening spectacular includes an entirely new repertoire of Chinese dances, with colorful, authentic local costumes that reflect the distinct cultures of different Chinese minorities. Come marvel at the fluttering silk fans of Gudian dance and the classical “water” sleeves of the Zangzu minority, all while learning more about one of the oldest civilizations in the world. We are privileged to also offer guest performances, such as martial arts and Chinese folk music! Guest performers include members of the local Chinese Schools, the Willamette Apprentice Ballet, as well as the UO martial arts team and the OSU ballroom team.
