A Lone Star Memorial Day
On the eve of Memorial Day, Sunday, May 26th at 5 PM veterans and civilians will gather at Lone Star Cowboy Church and spread out across the 60+ acre campus around a fire pit and set up our tents. We will then gather around the fire and share a stew to fill our bellies and begin sharing stories of fallen soldiers to fill our hearts.
At sunrise on Memorial Day, May 27th (7 AM), we will invite our children, our friends and our community to join us as we complete the Memorial Day tradition that is the workout Murph (participate at your fitness level). This workout is named after Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL who gave his life to call in Air Support for his team who was surrounded by the enemy. At the conclusion of the Murph (approximately 10 AM) participants and spectators will gather in the rodeo arena to hear testimonies from friends of Lone Star Cowboy Church, who happen to be veterans of the Special Operations Community; as well as from a guest speaker who will share a message about the true meaning of Memorial Day.
In closing we will provide an opportunity for God to work within our community and a time to leave space for those who are searching spiritually. Join us for a Lone Star Memorial Day as we honor our fallen soldiers and give all of the glory to God.
